SLOTS
Invented in the late 1800's by Charles Fey, slot machines are still the most captivating form of gambling in the casinos. Remove the slots from the casino and the aura of the place would disintegrate quite a bit. R ather easy to use, it is the only game suitable for players of all ages. Slot machines offer quick results and you may play them at your own pace without any use of skill.
To play the slot machine in the casinos, you need to buy coins from the cashier. There are different kinds of slot machine varying from those that accept rupees one to rupees 20. It is up to you to decide whether you would like to try your luck in a machine with higher or lower pay-offs. The pay-offs range from rupees 10 to rupees 10,000 depending on the combination you have hit.
The game is simple. After obtaining the coins from the cashier, find a machine you think is maybe lucky for you. Insert coin into the machine. As soon as the coin is dropped, the RNG stops and waits for the handle on the side of the machine to be pulled or the spin button to be pressed. (The RNG or Random Number Generator is a single microchip used in the slot machines, which determines what combination of symbol will appear on the pay line after you pull the handle). Pull the handle of the machine and watch the reels spin. The thrill of waiting for the result as the reels spin is electrifying. There are frequent pay-offs with the jingling of coins and the sense of excitement rolls with the reels.
Every 'one-armed bandit' (slot machines) beckons with the possibility of winning the jackpot on your next pull. So you may even get lucky and come out ahead, and if you're really lucky, way ahead.
Which machine to play?
This depends on your bankroll. If you save your big bankroll then you can go for the higher denomination like the machine that takes Rs 20/- coins. But if you are starting with a small bankroll then it is advisable to play with Rs 1/- or Rs 2/- coins. This ensures that you are not wiped out in no time. Your basic strategy is to make your bankroll last.
Time spent on one machine
Don't spend all your money on one machine. Divide your time into sessions. A session is the time you spend on one machine. If a machine is cold don't hang on, move to another one. It is also a good idea to break your bankroll into equal sessions, e.g. break your rupees 1000 into 20 sessions. You can have a go at 20 different machines and spend rupees 50 on each.
A machine is programmed to return a percentage of the amount you play, often as high as 87 percent. In Las Vegas there are even machines that return 97 percent. The casino still makes a good profit. Occasionally somebody hits the jackpot. This can be as huge as rupees 1100,000 depending on how much is accumulated.
Different machines take different value coins and the payments vary accordingly. There are machines that take two coins or three coins. It is always good to put in the maximum number of coins, as the pay out is higher for the game win.
